Marc Goldberg’s Summary

Based in Paris (France), I'm a managing Partner of Occam Capital with over 20 years of experience in the software industry in the US and in Europe.

Most recently I was a General Partner and CTO of RVC, the manager of the Reuters Greenhouse Fund, the Corporate VC arm of Reuters. At RVC we were instrumental in some of the most profitable European transactions with ID2 (Sold to Sonera), MetaMerge (Sold to IBM), Orchestream (LSE IPO), Fantastic corporation (Neue Merk IPO), Tradeum (Sold to VerticalNet), as the Greenhouse fund was invested in 82 companies and generated 16 IPOs and 27 trade sale.
Before that I was involved both as an entrepreneur and senior executive in Technology and Product Management in large and small technology companies: Renaissance Software (Sold to SunGard) , Rational Software (sold to IBM for $2.1B), Thales-Syseca (Paris) , KMPG-Nolan Norton (Palo Alto) and Reuters (London).

A seasoned speaker at events of the VC and technology community in Europe and in the US, I have also been for 3 years the co-producer of the RVC SoftEdge conference, a yearly gathering of the different “components” of software innovation: entrepreneurs, thought leaders, leading technology columnists, CIOs, senior executives of established technology players and venture capitalists. One of the key features of the conference was to bring innovation from the US, Europe and Israel together in one room to structure a value added dialogue.

I started Occam Capital in 2004 to focus on under-served Europe IP in the Information Technology industry, and build a technology consolidation fund that would support the local innovation community, and deliver superior return to its investors.

After more than 15 years away from France, I 'm now back in Paris where i live with my wife and three children.
