American Wave Machines has developed the first true standing wave surf pool - SurfStream. Using patented technology, this attraction provides the most sought after surfing experience – “the long ride.”
SurfStream accomplishes this in a compact area, without the need for a large surge tank. SurfStream is an open river of water. Standing waves form up and away from subtle bottom contours, but don’t travel towards a shore or boundary. Less space is needed to create great waves. Because the water moves at natural gravity-fed river speed, it is safe to have several people in the stream at once – even riding right next to each other. This significantly increases throughput, capacity, and fun!
The AWM team is comprised of engineers and hydraulics modelers who have worked in the water amusement industry for nearly two decades. SurfStream is the culmination of a development effort to finally bring the popularity and fun of surfing to the waterpark industry as an affordable attraction.
