Owner at RecruitmentLab
The Hague Area, Netherlands
My professional ambition is to transform cutting-edge information technology to the true benefit of the (online) user.
During my corporate life and, since 2000, as an independent consultant, entrepreneur and investor I have always worked at the intersection of strategy and IT. While in very different roles, the direction of my work has always been to humanize technology to the benefit of those who have to use it: real people.
Too often new applications that see the light of day are doomed from the very start, simply because no attention was paid to the only stakeholder that really counts. The user. This is much better said in Alan Cooper's book "The inmates are running the asylum". But the bottom line is that most applications available today are terrorizing normal people.
Focusing on the Dutch labor market I founded RecruitmentMatters (Dutch weblog on online recruitment) and RecruitmentLab (online assessments for online recruitment website quality, available December 2008). I have also have co-founded Kangarooster (job board) and Digitaal-werven (researching jobsections of corporate sites).

RecruitmentLab allows owners of jobsites (commercial jobsites as well as career sections at corporate sites) to assess the quality of these sites in a variety of areas.
Upon completion of an assessment, the user will get an indication of the quality of the site and how it compares to other sites in the same arena.
In addition the user can purchase reports detailing existing issues as well as measures to solve these issues.

– Vacancy structure

Companies can subscribe for free to have their recruitment section assessed. Companies can also choose to purchase a detailed report, consisting of assesment findings and advice on key improvement areas.

Kangarooster is a revolutionary new jobboard that utilizes state-of-the-art technologies to radically improve the experience of recruiters and candidates alike. Relevancy is key, as opposed to volume in present-day jobboard.
Respect is core, as Kangarooster is the only jobboard that is truly candidate-centric. We are not paying lip-service to privacy, we embrace it.
