I serve as an advisor, counselor, and coach to small business owners and executives who need help defining and resolving marketing and other business issues that are keeping them from achieving their goals.

I consider myself a problem-solver, and often the first problem to be solved is identifying the real issues that are preventing a company and its management from marketing effectively. Sometimes it is strategic, sometimes it is an internal matter. Many times it is "doing the wrong thing, the right way" and then trying to do more of it and expecting a better result!

In addition to my advisory and coaching services, through my marketing firm, Emerge Communications, I write marketing plans, provide writing, editing, and public relations services, and and also perform business research and report writing.

I publish and write for "Coaching News & Events," a blog that provides marketing news and analysis for life, career, and business coaches.

To stay current in my field and to be challenged by students who expect excellence in the classroom and online, I teach graduate and undergraduate marketing and advertising courses at Southern New Hampshire University.

During the past several years I have been researching and writing about the relationship between work and personal self-actualization. That's a theme that keeps coming up with individual clients, friends, and in my own life. Some of the things I enjoy doing: I've been a private pilot for over 25 years and first soloed when I was still in high school, writing, politics, blogging, music, cooking, and sailing are other pasttimes of mine.
