I began running my own BBS back in/around 1993 and then moved to the Internet around 1997. I ran my own sites and blogs (they were called "online journals" and "weblogs" back then) on free services until finally getting together the money to plunk-down on my own domain and hosting last year.
I'm glad to have control of my own work and hope to use my sites and blogs to push my content into print and other mediums, as well as continue self-publishing online.
