Manish K. Gupta received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mathematics from the University of Lucknow, India and the Ph.D. degree in Mathematics in 2000 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India. He has held various positions at University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand (2000-2002), National University of Singapore, Singapore (2001), Arizona State University, USA (2002-2004), Ohio State University, USA (2004-2005) and Queens University, Canada (2005-2006). Currently he is with the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DA-IICT), India working as an assistant professor.
He is a member of IEEE, IEEE Information Theory, IEEE Communication and IEEE Computer Society, The International Society for Computational Biology and The International Society for Nanoscale Science, Computation and Engineering.
He is a co-author of a research monograph (submitted to Springer Verlag Lecture Notes) in quantum error correction and he is an author or coauthor of several research articles including a recent invited article in IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Magazine's special issue on coding theory, communication theory and molecular biology. He regularly serves as a reviewer to several international journals in mathematics, communications and biology and has delivered invited conference talks at DIMACS, AMS and various invited lectures in Universities at New Zealand, Singapore and USA. He was an invited keynote speaker for 3 hours lectures at Com2Mac workshop on Biological Coding Theory at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) University, Pohang, South Korea in June 2005.
He taught courses on Introduction to theoretical computer science, design and analysis of algorithms, theory of formal languages, computer organization & architecture, signals & systems, ordinary differential equations, applications of numerical methods, foundations of computational and systems biology, topics in bioinformatics.
