Strategic Architect, Information Security Specialist and IBM System i Consultant
Bath, United Kingdom
Mandy Shaw has been a developer, a systems engineer, an educator, a senior manager, a quality manager and an architect.
Her main areas of interest are the Data Centre, SOA, unified communications and information management. Throughout her career she has been fascinated by the challenges of making one system or product talk to another.
Recent work has included technology strategy and strategic projects for a large IT systems integrator, working across a wide range of technology areas. She leveraged her previous experience as developer, quality manager and security specialist in building a team to drive a new revenue stream centred round governance, risk and compliance. She also acted as technical design authority and programme manager through the planning, deployment, launch and ongoing development of a successful demonstration suite showcasing the organisation's cross-technology solution skills.
She has extensive knowledge and experience of the IBM AS/400/iSeries/System i as systems engineer, developer, integrator, communications specialist, educator and strategic consultant, with particular interest in mixed workloads. Since 2000 she has run the Logicalis IT Forum, a user group for large UK System i users.
Her goal as a strategic architect is to assist the customer in deriving maximum business value from his/her information systems and technology by establishing a 'trusted advisor' relationship, giving unbiased strategic and tactical advice, and interpreting IT to the business and the business to IT.
