Michael Bailey’s Summary
I develop, market and look after websites for small to medium companies, charities, non-profits, social enterprises and NGO’s. I enjoy building a personal on-going relationship with each client, responding directly to their individual needs.
Most of the websites I build are clean, simple and elegant in design and function. I like to work closely with my clients, building a strong relationship over the build process and, if desired, through launch and the web marketing campaigns that follow.
All of my websites are built using the Wordpress content management system (CMS), allowing my clients to manage their own text, images and website settings. This puts control back in their hands, removing the need for a web developer for on-going content amendments. Where desired Wordpress websites also come with a built in, integrated blog.
The most popular online marketing platforms I help my clients to understand and use effectively are Google AdWords, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, social bookmarking websites like Delicious and social event listing websites like Upcoming.
Sometimes web and social media marketing is not the best fit for my clients. In these cases I often engage in audience profiling and targeted customer research whilst populating and setting up a Highrise customer relationship management system. This process has yielded upwards of 30% conversion rates for some of my clients.
Taking really good care of a website entails making sure the website is live, taking weekly backups, performing upgrades when required, extracting weekly traffic and visitor behaviour statistics, email administration when required, hosting, domain name registrations and on-going domain name management.
Water tight web administration takes knowledge and time … the kind of knowledge most small to medium companies don’t have and the kind of time that they should really be spending on their core business.
