Meridian East Limited is part of the Broadland Housing Group. Meridian East, a charity, supports people who want to work, but face disadvantage when it comes to entering the employment market.
In her position with Meridian East (Norwich), Karen works with the Early Intervention team, a joint initiative with Norfolk Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust, for people aged 14 – 35 who have a first presentation of psychosis. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, Meridian East supports people into training opportunities, work placements, or voluntary work as appropriate, with a long-term view to employment, offering job retention services.
In 2007 Karen established Wombling.org.uk, a not-for-profit organisation which runs on an entirely voluntary basis. Wombling has a vision which is primarily to keep usable items out of the landfill, and also to support recycling, sustainability and environmental initiatives.
Karen is also the owner of Ma'at Investigations, a company established in 2007, which offers professional Private Investigation and Process Serving in the East of England.
The company provides services to the public, business, insurance, finance and the legal profession.

Currently very involved with the Transition Town initiative in Norwich, particularly Reskilling group work. Transition Norwich aims to bring together the people of Norwich to design and implement a community response to peak oil (the imminent decline in world oil supplies), climate change, and the economic downturn - three issues which fundamentally challenge our current way of life.
