e-learning and web 2.0 expert at De Nayer institute and Flemish Department of Education
Belgium
I am active in the field of e-learning at an institute for higher education and within the Association Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. My main activities focus on the support of the campus management with regards to policies about technology-enhanced learning, and supporting faculty members with regards to instructional design.
At the Flemish Department of Education (Division for Adult Education) I was responsible for the communication between the department and the e-learning outsourcer for BIS Online (the official online distance education program of the Flemish Government), and responsible for the CVO-Online network. In this network, the Flemish schools for adult education can use the Learning Management System of the Department for their e-learning experiments.
Since July 2007 I'm working at the Flemish Department of Education in the Division for Policy Coordination. My work focuses on policies with regards to life long learning, distance learning and technology in education in general.
My main interests go to e-learning, distance learning and other forms of educational innovation. I am also interested in technology and more specifically how the internet has revolutionised the way we live, work, consume and have fun.
Finally, I find it important that our educational system adapts itself to the millenium generation of students, and in particular that we make our students more skilled in various information literacies.
