Adjunct Instructor at University of South Florida
Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida Area
I earned a B.A. in public relations and an M.A. in strategic communications management at the University of South Florida's School of Mass Communications, which is approved by the Accreditation Council on Education and Journalism in Mass Communications (ACEJMC).
Three words describe me best: organized, energetic and dedicated. With a meticulous attention to detail, I approach every task I am assigned with great enthusiasm and a commitment to getting the job done right. I am self-motivated, which gives me the ability to work independently; meanwhile, my cooperative temperament and personable nature make me an excellent team-player. Capable of both giving and taking direction, I am a natural leader who also knows how to follow.
As part of my graduate assistantship at USF, I gained experience teaching undergraduate journalism and mass communications courses. I also possess considerable journalistic writing experience. I wrote a weekly column called “The Baker’s Dozen” for the USF newspaper, The Oracle. I also worked as an intern at AARP Florida and a public relations firm in Tampa, Brock Communications.
My personal interests include dancing—ballet, lyrical, jazz and hip-hop—and traveling. I have been dancing since I was three years old and going to the theater even longer. My ideal career in communications would fuse my passion for public relations with my passion for the arts or traveling.
I am currently seeking an in-house communications position in an industry sector I am interested in—arts and entertainment, education, health care, non-profit, retail or travel—where I can perform one or more of the following duties:
-Community relations
-Media relations
-Events management
-Internal communications
-Branding
-Print & web design
-Strategic consulting
I am familiar with:
-Adobe Photoshop
-Microsoft Office Suite
-Quark
-Dreamweaver
