Luis has worked in nearly every design-related industry over the course of his post-college career. He began freelancing in traditional print and desktop publishing in 2000, shifted to motion graphics design for TV in 2002, shifted again to games design in 2003 and finally ended up working in web in 2004. It was in web development that Luis found all of his previous experiences come together in a single medium, and he has never looked back. His clients during this period included Ayala Land, Red Ribbon, National Bookstore and SM.
In mid-2005, he saw his focus shift yet again, but this time to a more specific area of the web. It was during this year that a mini-Renaissance was coalescing in the online world, with talented individuals and companies all over the globe working to return the Internet to its users - essentially reinventing the web. The free spirit and magnanimous nature of "Web 2.0" piqued his curiosity, and as time went on, it became more and more obvious that this was where he needed to be. During this period, Luis built three prototypal Web 2.0 websites – oKs.ph, gibbity.com and filmcrowd.com – the first of their kind in the Philippines.
It was in early 2006 that things really came to a head: Luis was introduced to a small group of like-minded, enlightened individuals. They decided to work together on a handshake in mid-2006, forming a company called syndeo::media (http://syndeomedia.com). In October 2006, Luis took the position of CEO for this small company. Within their first six months of operation, they developed two social networks, a Philippine-based music network called Odysseylive.net and an Australian sports network called 3eep.com. By mid 2007, they began work on a third project -- an Australian local business directory at Ourpatch.com.au.
These days, Luis spends 80% of his time working on the various projects that syndeo::media actively maintains, the other 120% developing new ideas, and as a result, sleeps very little.
