Lucy is employed by the Center for Elementary Mathematics and Science Education at the University of Chicago as an education technology specialist.
Prior to her current position, Lucy worked as a primary grade teacher in the Chicago Public Schools and as a middle computer science teacher at the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. Most recently, she has been a technology coach at the University of Chicago Urban Education Institute.
Lucy's professional interests include multimedia development, assistive technology, global education and the incorporation of social media technologies in educational settings. Lucy often covers these topics in her posts to the Infinite Thinking Machine, a group weblog sponsored by WestEd and Google. In recent years, she has been appointed an Apple Distinguished Educator and Google Certified Teacher.
Lucy is available as an education consultant. She is a seasoned conference and workshop presenter, and has developed curriculum materials as an independent contractor for both Apple Inc. and Google Inc. Additionally, Lucy can provide social media marketing advice to business owners and non-profit organizations.
