Lynn Platow’s Summary
biography:
Lynn Platow studied at Parsons School of design in New York City and began her graphic design career in the New York office of the international design consultancy Pentagram. In 2001, she had moved on to found and manage Tangerine Café Design Group, a woman owned and operated firm, in the East Village of NYC, and has since assembled teams in Regensburg Germany in 2004 and Albuquerque, NM in 2006. The studios share projects, ideas, artists & sources, and it is this structure which enables her to work closely with both local and international clients on a daily basis to provide the client with the full weight of the team’s experience and resources.
Platow has developed and assisted identity & branding systems, promotional materials, packaging and product designs for a wide range of clientele including the Whitney Museum, Snap Marketing, EK Success, Stage Stores and Zurich Capital Markets. She has been referred to as a “protagonist of the visual thread”, however her body of work is broader and more idea-based than this might suggest. She uses a true thematic approach to tie each component of a project together allowing each piece to both stand on it’s own as well as work in unity as a set. It is this method which gives her work immediate appeal to both progressive and conservative audiences.
