My research areas are CSCW, Ubiquitous Computing, Human-Computer Interaction and Ontologies (as in the Semantic Web, like in this project: http://ontomarks.sourceforge.net). I've been working in the ATELIER (Architectures and Technologies for Inspirational Learning Environments, IST-2001-33064) project within the Disappearing Computer initiative, and followed the after-delivery development of the MILK (Multimedia Interaction for Learning and Knowing, IST 2001-33165) project.
My PhD dissertation , in accord with my research areas of interest, describes a conceptual and computational framework to support context-aware interaction in shared workspaces by means of a distributed ontologies. Complex as it seems, it is the summa of three years of work in heterogeneous fields (CSCW, HCI, KR).
My teaching activities include, among other topics, Java programming (to variously skilled audiences), Interaction Design, and Groupware, as the software supporting CSCW. I am also the teacher at the Department of Psychology, for the course of Informatics for Social Research, whose topics include basic concepts of Computer Networking, Web design and Usability, Disabilities and Accessibility, Content Management, and Personal Information Management.
