My background: I was a Fortune 500 Human Resources leader (U.S. Robotics) and then the co-founder of the venture-backed startup Ucentric Systems, now a division of Motorola. In 1999 I launched the email group ChicWIT, which over time became WorldWIT, the world's largest online network for professional women. In April 2007 I launched Ask Liz Ryan, an HR think tank and consultancy, as well as the global Ask Liz Ryan online community.

I'm a keynote speaker, consultant and author on workplace issues, networking and work/life management.

I write a weekly workplace column for Business Week online, and am the Yahoo!HotJobs networking expert. I give on-air Human Resources and workplace commentary for BBC Radio and NPR's "Morning Edition." I am the Careers Expert for LifeMeetsWork.com. I consult with organizations on their people-management, leadership and HR issues. In 2006 I wrote Happy About Online Networking: The Virtual-ly Simple Guide to Building Business Relationships. I also work with a small number of career-changers and professionals looking for career guidance.

I live in Boulder, Colorado with my husband and five children, and sing opera and musical theatre for fun. My website is www.asklizryan.com
