Military Hiring Expert at The Value Of a Veteran
Washington D.C. Metro Area
There are so many good reasons to hire military veterans - yet, so few companies actually focus on this under-tapped source of talent. The most common reasons why are that recruiters have no familiarity with the military and the skills veterans have, and/or are frustrated with trying to understand how military experience translates into civilian job requirements
With over 220,000 skilled veterans completing their service obligation each year, can your company afford to ignore this group? Many recruiters initially contact me because they want to communicate their job openings to military veterans. I specialize in educating human resource professionals, particularly recruiters, on how to hire military veterans.
By "educate" I mean help you to understand:
• How to determine the veteran applicant sources (including those for disabled veterans) that are the best fit for your company as part of a larger sourcing strategy (there are dozens of companies that connect veterans/veteran resumes to employers/job postings - which companies should you work with to get the biggest bang for the buck?)
• How to identify the military skills you should be targeting to fill your job openings
• How to decipher a military resume (i.e., translate those military skills into civilian skills)
• How to customize your company's career website to appeal to a military audience and develop the marketing messages that attract veterans to your company
This education is accomplished through a military hiring guide, webinars, and consulting services. Please visit my web site (www.TheValueOfaVeteran.com) for more information.
