Promising Projects works in a multitude of capacities on projects we find interesting, with promise and purpose. Much of our work has to do with incubating, supporting and promoting live music concepts.
Some of our first projects included representing a diverse roster of artists.
We also offer talent buying services, buying talent for both venues, as well as Festivals and events.
We conceptualized and designed Tall City Blues Fest, which we also produce in-house. And we are hired to produce entertainment for other events, as well. We handle production & event logistics on behalf of other presenters, such as non-profits doing a fundraiser concert, private events, grand openings, VIP galas, etc.
We publish the West Texas Blues magazine, a quarterly publication distributed throughout the greater West Texas area.
Our art department also designs event marketing materials including posters, flyers, guides and programs, as well as mission driven collateral material, such as informational guides and brochures for non-profits.
Other services we provide include entertainment search services, consulting and event design.
West Texas Blues Magazine
January 2013 – Present (1 year 9 months) Midland, TX
Exploring Our Community and Creating Connections
West Texas Blues is a quarterly lifestyle and leisure magazine that explores West Texas communities and creates connections by reaching beyond the music into other areas of adventure such as art, leisure, nightlife, travel, entertainment, food and health.
West Texas Blues is geared primarily toward a readership aged 21-65. Our readers contribute to their communities, embody the entrepreneurial spirit, and live their lives with gusto! They inspire; they create; they relish in the joys of life and they live abundantly. Our readers travel with curiosity; they purposely seek adventure; they think in possibilities. They are a diverse cross-section of people who aspire to be better tomorrow than they are today.
West Texas Blues is a complimentary, quarterly magazine distributed throughout the West Texas area four times a year in January, April, July and October.
The distribution area includes the larger markets of Midland, Odessa, San Angelo, the Trans-Pecos region of Alpine/Marfa/Fort Davis/Marathon/Terlingua, as well as extending to the small surrounding West Texas towns amongst this larger-market radius.
We look for distribution points in each community that are independently owned and operated.
West Texas Blues is published by Promising Projects, Inc. and is a full-color publication trimmed to a finished size of 8.5 X 11.
We specifically seek advertisers that embody the spirit of entrepreneurship and add vibrancy to their community by making thoughtful products, services and experiences available to West Texans.

Lisa Grissom's Summary
I try to live my Life in allowance by "following the energy" where it leads me. It constantly requires course correction. Sometimes I resist; sometimes I'm surprised...pleasantly!
As quoted by Seth Godin who writes ridiculously good stuff and whom I recommend highly, "Trying is not dying; trying is the opposite of hiding".
I'm blessed to be able to work on some really great projects and sometimes that overwhelms me, until I take a step back and remember to be grateful for all the abundance and expression of creativity I have in my Life!
