Responsible for managing the communications functions for Second Harvest Heartland. This involves the creation and implementation of an integrated, strategic, multifaceted communications program designed to build and strengthen the organization’s role and reputation as a leader and authoritative voice on the issue of hunger. The Communications Manager coordinates and manages the production of various pieces–both on and offline–that promote SHH’s programs and advances its public identity. The Communications Manager may be responsible for media relations coordination, when the Director of Marketing and Communications is unavailable. The position develops hunger messages for multichannel delivery and supports the communication needs of the entire organization, while still supporting Advancement team efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Design and development of print marketing publications
- Web communications and marketing, including, but not limited to: management of public website, microsites, eCRM, online donation management, email marketing and social media/community management
- Media relations
- External communications in partnership with the Donor Relations team
(Role was E-Communications Marketing Manager from September 2008-October 2009, responsible only for online aspects of SHH communications and marketing.)
