I wake up every morning with fire in my belly. I have a fierce drive to make an impact on the world through digital literacy and making ordinary moments extraordinary shared through digital media while working to bring Cambodian (Khmer) history and culture into greater public awareness.
Born in a social data revolution, I recognize the importance of digital literacy and its irreversible implications. The Access to resources, education and opportunity is important for professional vitality. In 2009, I joined a group of technologist to help bridge the digital literacy and opportunity divide by serving as a board member and founding partner of Oakland Digital, a community building organization. It's teamwork that makes the dream work, which is why I continue to participate as an active problem-solver and strategist in setting organizational goals for sustainable long-term growth and high impact in the community.
As a digital citizen I leverage the power of technology & instant gratification for social good with community engagement through Visual Verbs, a creative agency for photography and social sharing photo booth. I believe life is defined by moments and making ordinary moments and opportunities extraordinary. I appreciate the art of visualizing a story or event through creative, technical skills and multimedia tools to create meaningful media with a candid, photo journalistic, simplistic style and perspective. After all, today's actions will be tomorrow's memories forgotten unless captured and shared with the world - make it extraordinary!
Fun Fact: I was featured on Microsoft's nationwide ad campaign, Bing It On Challenge (Bing vs Google), encouraging searchers to break the "Google habit". The TV and Online ad aired on national networks including: A&E; ABC; CNN; Food Network; FOX; MTV; VH1; YouTube.
