Linda Parkinson-Hardman’s Summary

Linda is an information scientist and business analyst who has specialised in providing support and guidance to small and large businesses who want to use the Internet to grow their business. She started using the Internet at work in the mid 1980’s before the WEB was even a twinkle in the eye of Tim Berners Lee, and built her first website shortly after the WEB was first available to the public in 1994. Prior to that she has worked in Retail Management, Medical Research and Marketing within the corporate environment. She is a qualified Personnel Professional, a counsellor and life coach and has run two very successful business (on and offline).

During the late 90’s and until 2001, (with an MSc in Information Science behind her) she worked as a Business Development Project Manager running a £2,000,000 project providing support, advice and help to SME’s in the West Midlands who wanted to use the Internet more effectively. These businesses included manufacturing firms, retailers, service providers, car sales, estate agents, charities, NGO’s and solicitors.

She then moved to Dorset and became the Customer Care Coordinator for the South of England for one of the largest charities in the UK, providing the human interface between the IT systems they used and their staff.

She has been running her current online business for over ten years and finally ditched the day job to concentrate on it exclusively in 2004.

Most recently, she has decided to go back into the IT arena she worked in with the Connected Project by providing the essential support that SME's in Dorset need to help them utilise all the power that the Internet can offer.
