Corporate Alchemy: Helping people and organizations turn leaden thinking into gold
Vancouver, Canada Area
My work as a Corporate Alchemist is informed by art, design and corporate culture. What is a Corporate Alchemist? The original alchemists tried to turn lead into gold (although much maligned in the Middle Ages, alchemists are credited with paving the way to modern day chemistry).
As a corporate alchemist, I help organizations turn leaden thinking into gold, through coaching, consulting and training. I use the arts as a catalyst for developing capabilities in creativity, innovation and transformational leadership in organizations.
Art has always been a powerful catalyst for transformation and that is why I bring it into business. Artistic processes create a crucible for deeper levels of conversation from which we mine group gold.
I use design thinking strategies to help organizations envision desired futures, turn ideas into action, enhance their brand and generate creative breakthroughs that lead to improved performance and increased profitability.
As a coach I am a trusted and confidential thinking partner to leaders, managers and ‘creatives’. I can help you clarify, reflect, re-frame, challenge assumptions, improve relationships, discover new perspectives, make informed decisions, and formulate strategies to help you achieve your goals.
I am co-author with Arthur VanGundy of "Orchestrating Collaboration at Work" an activity book for trainers, coaches, mediators and facilitators, who want to use the arts to create transformative learning experiences in organizations.
My courses are part of the management certification program at Royal Roads University, and I am an associate business coach at UBC. Clients include Fortune 500 companies, public sector organizations and boutique consultancies in North America, Europe, Singapore and Australia.
