Researching social media, changing workplace, knowledge and learning
Enschede Area, Netherlands
I work as a researcher: on my PhD ("Passion at work: blogging practices of knowledge workers") and in several knowledge management projects with companies. In my work I bring together my experiences of facilitating learning and managing changes, my interest in technologies and my passion for understanding how people work. I write a weblog (blog.mathemagenic.com) in case you want to know more.
In the future: redesigning workplaces, personal routines, organisational processes and technologies to support knowledge worker productivity and fun.
What I do best: asking questions and recognising patterns, initiating and facilitating change, workshop/learning facilitation, boundary spanning, translating from research to practice and back
Contexts: knowledge management, human resources development, technologies for collaboration, learning and knowledge sharing (including those under "social software" umbrella), technology adoption and change management

The closest metaphor to what I do in my weblog is "thinking in public"... Of course it's more than that: for me blogging is engaging into conversations with others, building relations, doing research and, sometimes, even changing the world :)
There is a couple of things related to blogging I'm especially proud of: being part of the team organising BlogWalk series and winning "best research-based weblog" award.
