Research Consultant in Greenbuilding & Medical Devices
Portland, Oregon Area
As a consultant working in two different fields, I bring fresh perspectives and innovations to both areas of my work.
As a greenbuilding research consultant, I write research reports for developers, builders, design professionals, property owners and policy makers who want to incorporate more green and healthy features into their work. My mission is to create safer, healthier, biodiverse neighborhoods, the Green Way. Some perspectives on this topic are posted on my website, www.GreenWayNeighborhoods.net. Many of the tools of 'Smart Growth' and 'New Urbanism' can be optimized by integration with ecological and universal design. Many existing regulations can be updated to address 21st-century challenges at very low cost to taxpayers.
As a project manager and business analyst, I have extensive experience and training in medical device R&D. As a business analyst, I’m good at translating conversations (customer feedback, design meetings, interviews etc) into engineering documents such as requirements, procedures, proposals and patent applications. As a project manager, I'm proficient in MS Project; have led a successful 2-year Federal contract with 7 fulltime team members; and have helped to implement an ISO-14001 Environmental Management System.
In both of these fields, I synthesize solutions using my curiosity, creativity, and enthusiasm. I am persistent, with a positive attitude and a passion to promote sustainability and regeneration.
