Lesley Dewar's Summary
Lesley Dewar is the author of bright and breezy adventures at Stories My Nana Tells, where every story has a WOW moment to entrance and surprise her readers – mostly children who are 7-12 years old. Her internet skills open a doorway to her unique online world where kids say, "WOW, I didn't know that!"
A passionate storyteller and skilled researcher, she can tease out extraordinary facts to make things of ordinary life become an inspiration and wonder. Lesley regularly attends libraries, schools, and community events to read her stories to children and engage parents in the joy of sharing story telling with their kids – at the child’s level.
A published writer since 1980’s (as a financial planner), she now writes regularly for the printed media on business topics, lifestyle ideas and is a guest blogger on various websites.
She has an outstanding reputation on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn as a networker, a commentator on social media and an active campaigner for conservation issues.
With over forty years full time in business, Lesley is an experienced networker, small business owner, successful author and she shares her skills freely. She is a popular public speaker; and her first eBook “Networking To A Plan” is an international success amongst those who want to improve their networking skills and become the "go to" person in the room. She maintains an impeccable reputation for personal honesty and integrity.
Lesley Dewar is a recent (2013) survivor of surgery and chemotherapy for triple negative breast cancer. Because TNBC has no markers or hormone receptors for tracking it, should it reoccur, there is no medical preventative intervention available. Monitoring requires regular ultra-sounds, mammograms, blood tests, and CT scans to see if anything new shows up. Her approach to her cancer treatment is symbolic of her approach to life. As she says, "sail on, silver moon”. At this time, she is cancer free.

Stories My Nana Tells: where every story has a WOW moment to entrance and surprise the readers, especially children who are 7-12 years old. Where the stories open one unique online world after another and make kids say, "WOW, I didn't know that!"
We know that it isn't always easy to get our kids to talk with us. The usual questions don't always generate scintillating conversation between a child and a parent, whether at home or over the phone. It becomes much easier to talk when you can share a new story especially written to engage the child's imagination.

A regular columnist for “Swan Magazine”, Lesley writes on lifestyle topics under the byline of “The Idler – The Idle Thoughts Of An Idle Mind”. She is adamant that the Editor, Douglas Sutherland-Bruce has a warped sense of humour, having created this heading, since she has the least idle mind you are likely to meet.
She also writes “Networking With Lesley”, a column focused on matters related to social media, business skills, business promotion and topics of current interest for business owners.
The short stories of The Idler often develop into a much bigger, detailed story for Stories My Nana Tells, her online Membership business, http://storiesmynanatells.com and Networking With Lesley articles are often published on the same website, in the category of Business Tips. They are very popular and will be collated and published on a CD in the near future.

With a wide support network, we actively canvass on environmental issues, participate in workgroups, research and disseminate credible information that has been well authenticated and lobby Governments for change.
