Les Armitage’s Summary

Starting from a technical background in the sixties Les has the preciseness of the qualified engineer that he is. Les quite often jokes that he was “that good as an engineer that his first employer fired him”. In reality, redundancy ejected Les from the engineering sector and led him to make alterations that completely changed his future. In those early years whilst qualifying as an engineer Les enjoyed several other interests: electronics, computer programing and photographic imagery. He won several local photographic awards and had exhibitions of his work in Manchester. He became a member of the Royal Photographic Society.

After a short time with the Manchester Evening News Les realised that his real future was to be in business.

Through a local contact Les bought a car dealership and so became its Managing Director. He operated and expanded that business, forming a finance company to enhance the business development and he continued to manage that company over several years.

From success in the motor industry Les joined Greg Rigby at Pendle Consultants in Yorkshire. He subsequently became very established throughout the motor trade in the UK for his particular expertise. During that time many hundreds of would-be sales people were processed through the ‘Pendle System’ receiving the particular brand of training Les propagated.

Business life called again and Les recognising the growth of the sportswear industry bought into that sector building several projects. The most successful being a group of wholesale warehouses throughout the UK. The business was subsequently sold to a Turkish competitor in its ninth year.

The latter part of 2003 brought the start of a recruitment agency and by 2009 Les, still in the recruitment sector was part of the formation of 247 Professional Health - [http://247professionalhealth.com]. 247 Professional Health is opening offices throughout the north west.
