My Recruiting Philosophy:
Understand the technical environment your recruiting for or you're just an overpaid job description orator.
Build relationships with members on the team you're recruiting for...sometimes it's so obvious to hiring managers they forget to tell you!
Have a targeted recruiting strategy and execute against it!
"Pipelines" are great, but results are what matter.
When job boards just aren't enough...that's when my specialties kick in. I have a large LinkedIn network, I am an expert with boolean searches, and use a variety of other "non-standard" internet resources which extend beyond the traditional sourcing techniques.
I also bring a technology background to the table which positions me to have intelligent and pointed conversations with candidates about their skills as well as the position and technical environment.

I lead the Staffing efforts for Ning's Operations Group. Including positions such as Oracle DBA's, Network Engineers, Unix Sys Admins, Director of Operations, Director of Data Services, Director of Site Availability, etc.
Aside from the traditional recruiting efforts I also lead efforts around building processes, I worked with the executive level management to create and implement a corporate wide "Closing Candidates" process, I also sandboxed, implemented, and provided corporate wide systems/process level support for Ning's applicant tracking system.
