My name is Andrea Cannavina and I am the Founder of LegalTypist, Inc., a legal virtual assistant and secretarial service located in Nassau County, Long Island, New York.
I've been in the legal administrative field for over 17 years. After beginning as secretary for the City Attorney of Glen Cove, I held positions at several law firms in New York City and finally ended my brick and mortar career as an executive legal assistant to an equity partner of LI's largest law firm.
In 2001, I founded LegalTypist and over the years have been hired by sole practitioners, mid-sized firms (50+ users), private investigative firms, insurance agencies and even a bar review course. I have helped each to upgrade their processes to digital through easy to implement and use technology and then take advantage of virtual assistance to get their work done. LegalTypist clients are all US based and all services, technology and people are also resident on US soil.
I type abnormally fast, but much of my work is now behind the scenes as the day to day work is handled by my network of handpicked and trained LegalTypist Digital Assistants. My personal preference is for Corel's WordPerfect, but my company transcribes documents in Microsoft Word as well.
I personally provide internet marketing assistance, including set up, maintenance and distribution of firm e-zines/newsletters, website copy, set up of unified messaging and other digital processes.
I am a long standing member of the International Virtual Assistants Association (http://www.ivaa.org) and have been a certified Master Virtual Assistant (MVA) since early 2002 - making me an industry leader. I am also on the Steering Committee for the OIVAC (Online International Virtual Assistant Convention) held the third week of May each year.
