Freelance Voiceover Announcer
Hartford, Connecticut Area
I have been a professional broadcaster and voiceover talent since 1969, starting at WHEB in Portsmouth, NH. After receiving my BA in Political Science and Communication (dual major) from the University of New Hampshire I began working at WFEA in Manchester, NH. After two years there I moved on to a similar position at WPOP in Hartford, CT.
In June, 1975 I joined Brentco Advertising, first as copywriter and later, Creative Director. In December 1978 I return to WPOP as Production Director. There I expanded my roster of freelance clients and also added duties as a booth announcer at WFSB-TV in Hartford, CT in 1986.
In January of 1997 I transitioned to full time freelance announcing when my WPOP Production Director position was eliminated thanks to corporate downsizing. I continue to hold the booth announcer job and in 1998 also joined the Connecticut Lottery as an on-air performer, drawing the lottery number on TV.
I have also written articles for Woodcraft Magazine and recently was Associate Editor of The Collins Complete Woodworker, a book published by Woodworkers Journal in conjunction with the Smithsonian.
