History of Steel & Coal Industries
Ohio & PA research 2009. My grandfather Jesse Hall appealed business case to Pa Supreme Court Hall v White 98 Pa 123,
he was undisclosed principal to a corporation Mercer Mining + Manufacturing Co which was I presume wildcatting in coal in Grove City
PA. The amount in issue was $1500. The mines were still
productive in 1915, long after his death. Started a website which will soon be on Google network:
http://youngstownareahistory.angelfire.com discussing Youngstown area developments in Industry, including coal,
iron, steel, and shopping centers and malls. I would like to discuss this in the context of general corporate history of the
same civil war to First World War history.
Tried child support case 2009.
Client was attorney at law and court warned that
Every case was a case of Imputed {guessed}income.
NY State collecting from the start: $144 for support plus $72 for arrears=$216/week {basically a victory}.
Tried complicated child custody case in 2007 where
husband murdered wife with 3 minor children in issue.
Paternal grandmother, my client, won custody after
some maneuvering and testimony. Three other attorneys present.
Tried more than 60 felonies to verdict.
Never lost a misdemeanor trial.
Tried numerous civil cases.
Wrote some briefs on appeal.
Research + writing.
Issue formation. The case notes to CPL Section 20.40 say a defendant has the right at common law and under the State Constitution(NY Const art I Sec.2) to be tried in the county where the crime was committed ....and the vehicle trip statute
20.40 (subd 4 par g) is inapplicable when the place of the crime is ascertainable. People v Moore 46 NY 2d 1, adopting
my position.
