Lauren Beyer’s Summary

I am a young communications professional in Jacksonville, Florida. In April 2008, I moved here to become the Social Media & Fan Outreach Coordinator at the PGA TOUR, working within the .COM team. Now I assist with the online marketing and content distribution teams to increase the reach of PGATOUR.COMcontent on off-site platforms like Facebook and YouTube. I also keep an eye on social marketing trends and recommend new opportunities for the PGA TOUR and PGATOUR.COM. Finally, I am taking on more PR responsibilities for .COM, and will focus on that initiative much more in 2009.

Formerly, I built and led the Communications department at brass|MEDIA Inc., a multimedia and marketing company focused on young adults and money, from January 2007 through March 2008. In December 2006, I graduated from Northern Arizona University with degrees in Public Relations and Electronic Media. At NAU, I was also involved in NAU Live!, (the student-produced newscast) PRSSA and NAU Athletics’ Media Relations Department.

I have a strong sense of responsibility to give back as much as I can. I currently volunteer through the PGA Tour and Social Spirits Jax. In Corvallis, I served on the United Way Benton County Board of Directors and the Young Professionals of Corvallis executive board. During college, I worked with Special Olympics Oregon, volunteered for SMART, and was a Community Relations Intern for the Portland Trail Blazers during the 2005-06 season.

My future goals include starting my own company to work with individuals who want to give back to their communities, being an advocate for the underserved, and living abroad. I'd also like to work on breaking par for 18 holes, now that I'm closer to the golf course again.
