As Business Wire's Senior Vice President of Media Services & Product Strategy, Laura Sturaitis heads up Business Wire's Business Development, Media Relations, Content Licensing, Product Development, Information Services and ExpertSource teams in the U.S. She is also a member of Business Wire's Steering Committee, which advises the company's Executive Board.
Laura is responsible for the comprehensive and timely delivery of Business Wire client’s news release to print, broadcast and online media organizations worldwide using Business Wire’s multi-platform delivery methods; and for developing new media tools and services for the distribution, availability and use of those news releases as part of Business Wire’s file of breaking news content.
Laura created both Business Wire University, the company's online training program and Business Wire's award-winning webinar series established in 2006.
Laura and her team created Business Wire’s EON: Enhanced Online News suite of services focusing on Search Engine Optimization and Social Media applications of the news release.
She was also instrumental in the sales and marketing development of the Smart News Release powered by Newstream a joint venture of Business Wire and Medialink, the global leader in the production and distribution of broadcast video services.
Newstream was the first web site to provide services to online journalists, by giving them access to free multimedia news content such as photos, logos, graphics, animation, video and audio from corporations and organizations worldwide.
Prior to becoming SVP, Laura was Business Wire's first VP New Media Development (2000-2007) and before that Florida Regional Manager (1992-2000).
Laura holds a corporate position while based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
