I've just established a 501c3 group--The Hampton Roads Writers of which I am the president of the Board of Directors. My goal with this group is the creation and implemenation of affordable writing classes for Hampton Roads (Virginia) writers at all levels. I also would like to promote local writers who are just starting out in the business. I also hope to establish an annual, high quality writers' conference in Virginia Beach.
My print and online work appears in Dog-eared, The Gator Springs Gazette, Atomic Petals, Retrozine, The Copperfield Review, A Woman of a Certain Age, Moondance Magazine, Monkey Bicycle, Insolent Rudder, LongStoryShort, Edifice Wrecked, The Virginian Pilot, Whistling Shade Literary Review, Somewhat.org, The Green Tricycle, Reading Divas, The Angler, Salome Magazine, Quiction, Bewildering Stories, Tiny Lights—a flash in the pan, Down in the Cellar, Tuesday Shorts, and Six Sentences. A short story is forthcoming in HeavyGlow in May 2008.
My writing was featured on NPR's literary show, Word By Word in 2005.
I won NFG's 4th Great-69er contest in 2004.
Some of my other fiction and creative non-fiction appears in anthologies such as Random House’s Knitlit the Third—We Spin More Yarns and Better Non Sequitur's See You Next Tuesday.
I have written 4 plot driven novels: Demons’ Door, Obsession, They Walk Among Us, and Jack.
I specialize in creation and editing of commercial fiction.

I offer complete editing, writing, and mentoring services, specializing in novel length fiction and creative nonfiction.
While most of my work involves book-length manuscripts, I do edit shorter pieces such as memoir pieces, short stories, biographies for resumes, sales material, press releases, query letters, and the like.
For those people not ready to commit to a full blown edit of a project, I do offer manuscript evaluation, an overview of the manuscript’s strengths and weaknesses with general suggestions for improvement. This service does not include marking every individual change suggested. It is most useful for new writers who want to know if they are “on the right track.” It is also a cost-efficient service that will point out patterns of editorial weaknesses that the author can then correct.
