I work on editorial, Web content development, and corporate writing projects that cover everything from health and fitness to literature, travel, education, personal finance, and lifestyle. I have written about cancer myths for Redbook, sports bras for Cooking Light, childhood memoirs for The Writer's Chronicle, the best colleges for Barnes & Noble, photography websites for Photo District News, and San Antonio for The Travel Channel. I recently finished writing the Insiders' Guide to Houston, which will be published by Globe Pequot Press in October 2009. I have also hired and managed freelance writers and editors, both as editor of InTheFray.org and as a project editor for Thomas Riggs & Company.
Having begun my editorial career in the new media sector, I understand the unique challenges of writing for the web and connecting with consumers online. I use this background to blog and write search engine-optimized web content for companies such as the Community Health Foundation of Western and Central New York. I also help businesses develop their Web presence through social media and other Web-based marketing solutions.
