Laura Lee is the Online Engagement Strategist for World Resources Institute. She is a member of the Web Analytics Association and NTEN-Nonprofit Technology Network.
Laura Lee has been with WRI since 1986, holding positions of growing responsibility. In 1996, she created WRI’s first web site, spent the next ten years moving it from a static collection of pages to a dynamic collection of data. She continues to raise our bar of excellence by building online tools and information, providing strategic development advice and measuring engagement of WRI’s online community.
Laura Lee’s current focus is on web analytics and metrics, online marketing, social media outreach, and online community development.
Laura Lee began working with multimedia communications technologies in the early 1980s, first as a journalist then moving into radio and television and finally into the online space.
Prior to joining WRI, she worked in the telecommunications law firm of Fly, Shuebruk, Gaguine, Boros, Schulkind and Braun (Washington, DC; 1983-86), at WKPS-FM and cable-TV station WWNW, New Wilmington, PA (1979-1983), and as assistant to Pennsylvania State Legislator Al Rasco (Pittsburgh, PA; 1978). Prior to that she was an editor/writer for a local newspaper.

Laura Lee graduated from Westminster College with a degree in telecommunications and minors in art and religion. Originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she now lives in Arlington, Virginia with her husband, two sons, and two poodles.

Help organize and lead events with youth grades 6-12. Facilitate Senior High (grades 9-12) Sunday School. Lead worship (including play guitar). Track online best of sites for worship and learning resources. Organize annual trip to Creation Festival NE. Read -- a lot! Provide support for Youth Director. Be a friend. Have great fun!

as Internet Strategist/Webmaster Laura Lee dooley developed online tools and applications, oversaw content development for web and other electronic postings, developed and posted electronic presentations, and researched the work of other organizations online. She worked to expand WRI's Internet capacity to include online research tools, multimedia presentations, searchable databases, e-commerce, and e-fundraising. Focusing on individual projects at WRI, Dooley developed internet strategies for expanding the reach of WRI's policy research and technical assistance to a global online audience. Her overarching goal was to meet the needs of the growing community of online users for WRI's research.

As a Communications Associate, Laura Lee Dooley was involved in developing and implementing events and outreach strategies for the Biological Resources Program at WRI (now the People and Ecosystems program) including the United Nations Convention on Biodiversity along with activities related to the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED: aka Rio Summit) and the follow-up United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development, the Clinton Administration President's Council on Sustainable Development (PCSD), and further developing WRI's Website, launched in 1986.
