Laura Bramly is the author of ElderCareRead, Life Scenes 1, the first in a series of books to promote reading by people with moderate to severe dementia.
Laura is actively promoting the three steps to take when you or a loved one is experiencing memory issues: Diagnose, Manage, LIVE, which she based on her philosophy that early diagnosis along with sustained learning, activity, purpose and exercise can help to slow the progression of Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia.
Having found her passion in developing education programs to teach people with dementia and their families how to live with their disease, Laura wants to create communication strategies to break the stigma of dementia.
A communications consultant with over 20 years of experience, Laura has worked with corporations, universities and non-profit organizations to develop communication models and course curriculum, and has planned and managed many conferences.
Laura is also a workshop facilitator, helping organizations to brainstorm ideas in a nonjudgmental environment and pull together mission, vision, goals and implementation plans.
As a graphic designer, writer and editor, Laura has designed, written and edited course materials, conference proceedings, books, reports and many other documents. Her portfolio is available on www.officehounds.com.
Laura is a graduate of Ryerson University in Toronto, Ontario, and holds a Bachelor of Business Management degree and a diploma in Computer-based Business Systems.
