My doctoral thesis was concerned with creativity and the spread of ideas. I:
* drew on the psychology of creativity literature to examine the genesis of economic ideas in the creative work processes of economists, and
* drew on sociological theory to help understand generally how economic ideas become institutionalised into economic institutions.
I argued that once economists have ideas about the economy, and those ideas are then disseminated within the economy, those ideas help change the nature and dynamics of the economic system and economists are not 'objectively' modelling economic systems being studied like classical 19th century physicists, but are instead active participants in shaping the economic system they are studying - more like quantum physicists in the 20th century.
My thesis (http://eprint.uq.edu.au/archive/00004455/) was very interdisciplinary, drawing on literature in economics, psychology, sociology and philosophy.

In this position for a small Australian organisation with customers in the UK, USA, Australia and Singapore, I took on roles of strategic marketing, project manager, and new product development. I developed an online marketing plan (effective use of the internet for marketing was relatively new then) to utilise the internet to create greater intimacy with potential and actual customers and facilitate improved support. I planned and ran exhibits at industry trade shows, and negotiated and managed distributor relationships. I was responsible for managing major global accounts.
