Larry Plotkin’s Summary

I am the President of Precison Plant Systems, Inc.(www.ppsi.info) - an electronics and software manufacturer supplying technology and products to the agricultural sector. Our products enable growers to better manage their crops for increased yield and quality while optimizing resources.

Our "PingMeterTM" is a hand-held instrument that instantly determines the nitrogen, chlorophyll and relative water content of plant leaves. All results are GPS tagged for mapping, trending and site-specific regimen support.

I am also an expert consultant in the areas of industrial inkjet technology, corporate innovation and business growth strategies (www.inkjetconsulting.com)

Following 25 years of service at HP, I was Vice President/General Manager of the Ink Jet Inks Division of ImTech inc. (www.imtech-or.com). I was responsible for all aspects of the ink business including R&D, Qualification, Manufacturing, Marketing and Sales. I commercialized ImTech's novel UV-Curable ink for thermal inkjet, and oversaw its patent protection. I was an engaged, "hands on" manager - helping to solve R&D and customer integration issues.

At HP I was responsible for the design and commercialization of consumer and commercial inkjet products, and the management of corporate innovation and new business development. When I left HP (May, 2005), I was the director of HP's 'internal incubator' - the New Business Creation (NBC) team in the Imaging and Printing Group. Under my direction NBC discovered, researched, developed, and launched many new businesses. One of our greatest accomplishments was the establishment of processes, procedures and business controls necessary for a repeatable, credible corporate intrapreneurial incubator system.

I a committed family man, and am actively engaged in local economic development and community service. I live in Corvallis, Oregon.

I have a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
