Overall my goal is to create compelling stories that can travel across multiple devices and platforms. I believe that media consumption is changing and that movies, gaming, music, and technology are all colliding. I've been writing a book about it called "Putting the Mass back in Media" and I've started a social open source project called Workbook that looks at the intersection between tech and entertainment. http://www.workbookproject.com
Writing, directing, producing - film, TV, live event and cross-media entertainment. Extensive tech knowledge with a focus on how to use tech creatively to reach audiences and generate awareness.

I'm on the board of the IFP.
The goal of IFP's programs is to provide a national and international platform that facilitates a nexus between the creative and the business of filmmaking. The organization does this through programs that: aid in the professional development of its members, proactively and directly support individual projects, seek to cultivate and expand the audience for independent film, and advocate for policies that protect and solidify the position of independents within the larger business and artistic landscape.
As the climate for making and releasing independent work gets more challenging, it is imperative that IFP continues to serve as a destination for those seeking to develop, nurture and embrace independent thinking and expression.

Our goal is to create a free resource for content creators that will become a user contributed repository of information. The concept is part of a “social open source experiment” called the workbook project. It’s a simple concept, the workbook is meant to be spread and edited. Meaning that content creators can add their own info, war stories, advice etc. We’re hoping that the workbook can grow as a resource.
The goal is to have it grow organically as people add what they feel is important. Then over time, the various “additions” can be collected or at least interlinked so that the information can be shared.

STM was founded by David Beard and Lance Weiler to address the gap between burgeoning technologies and entertainment. In 1998 David and Lance helped to develop an e-cinema proof of concept that made cinematic history by releasing the first digital feature to multiple theaters across the US via a “time shifted” solution that has since become an industry standard.
David and Lance have consulted for the likes of Loral Space, Texas Instruments, Ubisoft, Microsoft, eBay in addition to large ad agencies and entertainment companies. They have spoken about the future of entertainment at Digimart, Power to the Pixel, the Cannes, Berlin and Sundance Film Festival. In addition their work has been covered by Wired, Forbes, Variety, The Red Herring, and The Wall Street Journal among others.

Lance Weiler is a critically acclaimed award winning writer and director. He is recognized as a pioneer because of the way he makes and distributes his work. Millimeter magazine called Lance a “tech iconoclast” and Wired magazine named him “One of twenty-five people helping to re-invent entertainment and change the face of Hollywood.”
His work has been featured in Time and Forbes and on television programs such as Entertainment Tonight and CNN. His first feature, “The Last Broadcast,” is currently distributed in over 20 countries. It has the honor of being the first all digital release of a motion picture to theaters nationwide and played on HBO and IFC. To date “The Last Broadcast” a self-distributed effort, has grossed over 4.5 million dollars worldwide.
Lance’s newest feature, “Head Trauma,” had its world premiere at the LA Film Festival in 2006. “Head Trauma” had a 17 city DIY digital theatrical run before hitting stores and retail outlets nationwide on DVD.
