Lance C Lambert

Lance's professional career began in the auto industry. This was in large part a result of being third generation in an automotive family, giving Lance an extensive insight on the industry growing up.

He entered into the business with various indutry-related jobs through high school and college. This experience is what landed Lance at the front door of the leading online auto inventory site; AutoTrader.com. This is where Lance quickly learned all aspects of online advertising, His career then shifted gears to newspaper.com advertising after being recruited by the new business manager of the Ventura County Star (an E.W. Scripps property).

Lance was fortunate enough to be a part of the evolution of newspaper transitioning to online. In early 2009 he approached his director John Dzaran with a business plan and job description framing out a retention strategy for the online newspaper business. This strategy was a success and later became adopted by Scripps in late 2009.

Scripps gave Lance the opportunity to continue with this strategy across all properties.He managed a corporate team of sales analysts, and worked with 26 local campaign specialists to retain advertising dollars. The position required full knowledge of the companies entire product portfolio including, but not limited to; Online display, SEM, SEO, Facebook/social, e-mail marketing, mobile advertising, and analytic reporting. Lance managed several programs in this position as well including; Click Fuel, Who's Calling, IfByPhone, and Liquidus.

In early 2012 Lance accepted a Regional Manager position from CARFAX . This position allowed Lance to get back in front of the customer, and refocus towards the automotive industry in specific. He very much enjoys what he does, and feels this role does a good job of utilizing the plethora of knowledge he has worked hard to hone over the past several years..

  In late November of 2006, Lance took a passion and made it a small business. Thanks to demand from family and friends, he created a seasoning line for public consumption! It's called SLO Seasoning, named after the town where he found his love for tri-tip. It is a fun way for him to enjoy his hobby of cooking while at the same time staying in touch with advertising challenges for an SMB.

• 2006 Advertising Rookie of the Year

  As the newest member to the VC Star sales team, Lance won the annual "advertising rookie of the year" award. This was for his efforts in both beating his monthly sales goals, and implementing online sales strategies.
