Speaking and performing professionally since 1999, Lady Khadija is an arts activist, poet, and youth advocate, able to connect with individuals from all walks of life. She presented workshops and performed across the country and over-seas, using her many skills and talents to inform, inspire, encourage and empower.
She has performed along side artists such as Sonia Sanchez, The Last Poets, Talib Kweli, and Harry Belafonte at the Fortieth Anniversary. Effortlessly fusing art with advocacy and activism, Lady Khadija has developed and presented workshops at Job Corps (Cincinnati, OH and Flint, MI), Wayne State University (Detroit, MI) , Hamilton County (Ohio) Department of Human Services and DeKalb County (Georgia) Department of Juvenile Justice.
Lady Khadija has produced, organized, and promoted radio broadcasts and events in all across the Eastern United States including the award winning Lyrical Insurrection; Cincinnati Ohio’s longest running open mic/artist showcase and Word Sound Radio, an internet radio broadcast reaching more than 250,000 listeners in less than 2 years. She has published a chap book and a double CD spoken word collection entitled, 19… Mercy Oceans/SPIT FIRE.
In addition to speaking engagements and performing her fiery brand of Spoken Word Soul, Lady Khadija is an entrepreneur. She studied Early Child Hood Care and Development at the University of Cincinnati and has received certifications in Portable Video Production, Graphic/ Web Design, Internet Radio Production and Internet Marketing. She uses the entirety of her skills in her writing and developing her organization, (project:DGTS).
