I took a small amount of money we raised on Kickstarter, found a building, convinced the landlord to take a chance on a rag-tag team of people with a big idea and very little money, and we opened to the public a few short months later. I handled all things operational - basically, made the engine run. Later, I found people to help with the care and feeding of the operation.

I also developed and ran several workshop series. "The Business of Biotech" brought in industry experts to focus on slices of the big, broad catalog of things we call Biotech. "Founders' Tales" had real-life founders telling their stories from the road - what worked, what didn't, and their best advice for new and seasoned entrepreneurs. We trained kids through our "Saturday Morning Science" workshops, helped students with award-winning science fair experiments, produced scientific posters and papers, and won the "Maker Award" for Education and Best Overall at Maker Faire in 2012, and 2013 respectively.
