In November 2008 I packed my bags and moved from Norway to Great Britain settling down in the nice city of Newcastle upon Tyne. I came to Newcastle to begin in my new and exciting position as Head of Development for the mighty digital agency Orange Bus LTD.
In Orange Bus I am at the moment managing a team of 3 developers and 1 designer, my responsibilities includes managing our projects and my team ;) Designing the software architecture and building process of our web projects, and keeping up to date on the latest web trends and technologies.
Some of our most important development tools in Orange Bus are PHP, Drupal (a PHP framework/CMS) and rich web applications using an agile development approach.

In my former jobs I have mainly worked with web applications, building a crisis management systems, maintaining and extending a Customer Relation Management system, and other web portals. I have also worked with search engines setting up and maintaining a set of FAST ESP servers.

In Derdubor AS I worked as a senior software engineer. I worked with both search engine management and software development.

I worked with all the stages in a software development run, from design and requirement specifications to implementation and testing. Derdubor has standardised on Java and PHP as the core development languages. Most of the development was done inhouse, and the software development consisted of enhancing our web application, the CRM and develop new applications.

Since Derdubor is kind of a local version of the yellow pages they have a strong focus on search and search engines. Derdubor uses both commercial and open source application to give our customers the best search experience.
