Kris Hardy's Experience
Director of Operations
RH Systems
Privately Held; 1-10 employees; Electrical/Electronic Manufacturing industry
September 2011 – Present (9 months) Albuquerque, New Mexico
Director of Operations (Engineering, R&D, Marketing, Sales and IT) for RH Systems, a leading manufacturer of high-precision field and laboratory chilled mirror hygrometers and SF6 gas purity analyzers for the metrology and electrical power transmission/distribution industries.
Services Technical Lead
Sypherlink
Privately Held; 11-50 employees; Computer Software industry
May 2010 – August 2011 (1 year 4 months) Dublin, Ohio
At Sypherlink, I provided custom data integration software and support to Public Safety and Justice organizations. This enabled them to quickly and easily share their business-critical and intelligence information with one another. My clients became more streamlined and efficient, and improved their intelligence gathering and data analysis capabilities, even while their budgets are shrinking.
Sypherlink's patented software allows their clients to seamlessly share data that was previously difficult, if not impossible, to share. I worked to knock down barriers in the data sharing process, and lead the integration of data from numerous vendor-supplied and custom-built applications, build interfaces based on leading US National standards (NIEM, NDEx, LEXS, etc.) and manage the entire data-sharing process from cradle to grave.
My role was as Sypherlink's Client-facing Project Manager and Technical Lead. I managed multiple large-scale integration projects and lead a team of 5 dedicated and outstanding software developers who built our customized Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) applications and Data Integration Middleware.
If you would like to know more about Data Integration, the challenges that most organizations face with managing integration projects, or what your company can do to more effectively build, implement or purchase ETL or Data Integration solutions, feel free to contact me!

Webmaster and Race Director
Team Dayton Cycling
October 2005 – November 2007 (2 years 2 months)
Planed, arranged support and directed the annual Team Dayton Criterium Classic bicycle race in 2006 and 2007. Approximately 150 attendees per year, with ~10 corporate sponsors and a total award payout approaching $3,000.

Project Manager and Research Scientist
Air Force Research Laboratory
Government Agency; 5001-10,000 employees; Military industry
May 2004 – September 2007 (3 years 5 months)
Initiated, planned and managed cost, schedule, scope, risk, evaluation and product delivery for a portfolio of $8 million to improve the state-of-the-art of coatings research, surface cleaning and coating performance testing. Efforts led to several new products, reducing the Air Force’s $2 billion-per-year corrosion repair cost.
Directed environmentally-friendly, chrome-free aircraft paint program, and partnered university research inventions with the coatings industry. Product adopted across entire Air Force F-15 jet fighter fleet.
Led planning and execution of $5M fast-cure paint program to reduce the time that is required to repaint aircraft in war-zones. These new coatings & application methods reduced aircraft downtime from 72 hours to under 24 hours.
Deputy Director
Battle Staff, Air Force Flight Test Center
September 2001 – June 2002 (10 months)
Led 5 direct reports and 15-person Senior Leadership team responsible for base contingency planning and implementation after September 11th, 2001 attacks.
Orchestrated emergency response and communications for base emergency responders, FBI & DOT during explosive-borne vehicle threat. Safe resolution led to military medals and promotions for direct reports.
Project Manager and Research Chemist
Air Force Research Laboratory
Government Agency; 5001-10,000 employees; Military industry
2000 – 2002 (2 years)
Hand-picked as the Project Manager to save a troubled explosive waste disposal facility, including all concerns of the facility's technical development and personnel training and safety.
Simultaneously, as a Research Chemist, I conducted energetic material synthesis experiments as member of 3-man energetic materials and additives research team.
I initially identified several critical technical risks that would keep the explosive waste disposal facility from meeting our essential business requirements. Following that discovery, I led an explosive material degradation research and discussion panel of Air Force, Navy and commercial experts, and used their input to develop a new project plan and address our technical risks.
With the help of my technical staff and advisers, we were able to avoid $500,000 in wasted funding and penalties, and conduct a through re-planning and begin proactive negotiations with our senior leadership and the EPA.
