This entailed doing academic style research in Computer Science. I work in the Programming Languages and Software Verification research group, and collaborate with some other research groups as well. The deliverables are technologies for greater consumption within Microsoft and research papers published in peer-reviews conferences and journals.
Broadly, the projects I was involved in were:
- Verification of Object Relational Maps
- A programming abstraction for the collaborative internet
- Abstract Interpretation and its use in finding bounds on temporal constraints and resource usage
- Statistical debugging with profiling
- Search techniques for artifacts of programming and debugging
The stint was very valuable in terms of technical and organizational experience, and resulted in 5 papers and 6 patents

This was a startup which started out of IIT Kharagpur. Our aim was to fight the information overload problem by serving personalized recommendations to users based on the current context as well as their taste (inferred from past browsing history). We built a prototype for showing to investors. I was mainly involved in the back-end (crawling, databases) as well as the front-end (web design).

This was an internship position at Microsoft Research, Redmond where I worked in areas related to automated theorem proving. I worked on a new algorithm of combining traditional Nelson-Oppen style theorem proving with SAT Solver based Model Generation. It resulted in a journal publication.
