Jacobs has been hired as a contractor for the US Army Corps of Engineers to assist in construction management of the Ft. Bliss expansion in El Paso, TX. I work as a Project Engineer with USACE and am overseeing the construction of 1,440, 2-bedroom barracks units in 24 buildings for 2 light infantry brigade combat teams with a contract value in excess of $174,000,000.00.
Part of my role includes:
Review design submittals for conformance to contract requirements, enforce all contract requirements, write and manage contract modifications, review and approve pay applications, and ensure safety compliance.
Train, supervise, and manage Quality Assurance staff.
Hold productive weekly coordination meetings with all contractors.
Maintain accurate reporting through Resident Management System (RMS).
Obtain on-going training and certifications through Jacobs Engineering and the US Army Corps of Engineers.
