Since 1995, Klaas has dedicated his career towards interactive marketing. Besides Energize, Klaas has worked for the leading online media agency Reddion and promotional agency Free for One. In cooperation with the Erasmus University Rotterdam he conducted the first European Study on the effectiveness of banner advertising. As a result, he won the eBusiness Thesis Award and the DDMA Scholarship Award.

Klaas wrote the book "Webvertising: Tools for an Effective Campaign" and was co-author of “Industry Changes caused by the Internet”. He frequently writes for renowned marketing magazines and blogs. Titles include: AdfoResult, Web Desk, Interactive Advertising Bureau Handbook, Emerce Magazine, MolBlog and Tijdschrift voor Marketing (Journal of Marketing).
