VP of Technology at WebEvents Global and Cloud Computing Evangelist
Eugene, Oregon Area
I am a technology professional in my mid 30's. I have been working with databases for 20 years since my first job out of high school, with 12 years of developing web-based applications I have developed a real passion for applications that run on the web or "in the clouds".
Web Application developed has captured my attention for the entire last decade. I evolved from developing applications using traditional programming languages to using more portable social applications. I have also dabbled beyond JavaScript into using popular Rich Internet Application (RIA) platforms, with an interest in pushing my understanding of RIA development.
Recently I am obsessed with cloud computing at all levels, Software as a Service (SaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). I have several major cloud infrastructure migrations under my belt and looking to understand cloud computing to its fullest.
In 2009 I am fortunate enough to be able to take my experience with web applications, databases, social networking, social media, business planning and marketing and apply it in the even management industry for WebEvents Global. As the VP of Technology for WebEvents Global I am overseeing the companies technology platform, and product development.
Moving WebEvents Global onto a scalable platform that utilizes the best of the cloud and 3rd party tools was my first priority. With a scalable platform to operate from I am now working on developing many new social applications, web services, and next generation event management solutions. I am very excited of the opportunities in front of me with WebEvents Global.
