Usability Consultant with Background in SEO
Greater Philadelphia Area
I am a usability consultant to search engine marketers. I provide web site usability services that focus on persuasive design techniques to improve conversions, plus application (forms) testing, and newsletter and shopping cart user interface, accessibility, data analysis and QA functional testing.
My business partners come from the web design and search engine marketing industries. Most of my work is sub-contracted to website design and marketing firms. From 1996 to 2002 I specialized in organic search engine optimization, before moving on to usability testing and user centered design support. Therefore, my reports don't conflict with search engine marketing projects or their recommendations.
As an industry reporter and columnist for a wide selection of blogs and SEO news sites, I cover both search engine optimization and Internet Marketing, as well as the usability/UX industries. In addition to articles, I also write for my Cre8pc blog, as well as several others.
I have been a speaker at SMX and SES conferences, as well as Search Camp Philly and We Build Pages.
I write on Usability for the print publications, Search Marketing Standard and WebSite Magazine. I am a search marketing industry conference reporter for the Search Engine Roundtable and Search Marketing Gurus. My articles are published by many web sites including Webpronews, SearchEngineGuide and CorporateWebsite.
I'm a contributing writer for the "Just Behave" column at Search Engine Land.
I operate and founded Cre8asiteforums, which has over 17,000 members and a staff of moderators and technical people. Launched 1998. I'm skilled in creating online communities.
Board member for Pennridge Little League Baseball, 2006 to Present; Pennridge HS Football Booster Club
Launched Akesana.com in November 2008 and launching new sites in 2009.
My previous years of work in the Search Engine Optimization field permit me the added advantage of understanding the needs of marketing a web site and balancing that with the needs of web site visitors and customers.
As a columnist, consultant and forums owner, I'm always tuned into what's happening with the search engine industry and connecting this information to the user centered design fields.
