I went to college for Marketing. I like the idea of coming up with a plan that appeals to people and in turn makes them want to do something. I got my feet wet in school by assisting a few companies/people with there current situation with ways for improvement.
While I don't work in a Marketing Department. I am still able to lend my skills to business for help. I currently train store owners on the Yahoo Platform. Some of it is just teaching, but a lot of it involves giving advise for improving and or marketing their site. Many ideas have been put to use and have become profitable for the store owners.
I do want to get back into a marketing position however. Working to promote and increase profitability with in a company by advertisements, public relations, and especially by a web presence.

At Solid Cactus, I work as part of the Tech Support Department but focus mainly on training. I sit down with every store owner and train them on the basics of Yahoo Stores and also the new features that have been added to their site.
I also work on building the documentation that accompanies the features. So clients are able to manage the feature effectively and independently.
Finally, I'm the main contact for customers with the Solid Cactus Shipping Manager. I provided some ideas towards it's development. Assisted in testing, and lauching. Now, I assist the store owners with setting it up. I also trouble shoot any errors the client would develop in changing it's settings. I am continually meeting with the Software as a Service department help improve the shipping manager's current functionality.

I actually did a little bit of everything at Donahue's. I began as a dishwasher. I did well but soon began to assist the cooks with preparation of dinners when they were backed up.
At times I would act as a runner, getting sides for meals, and busing tables on busy nights or holidays. Not long after this, I worked as a sue chef and cook. I was in charge of the preparation and appearance of the food on the plates. There were times when I was the only cook and had to manage the entire kitchen including the dishwasher on staff.
The last position I held there was a waitress. Most nights I was there and needed to wait on 20 tables myself. Other times, I had team of 2 other wait people to assist. In this position I was responsible for the money going in and out of the restaurant on my checks. I was also responsible for the closing up the restaurant at the end of the night.
